TRAIN FOR A MARATHON and HAVE FUN DOING IT.

Train locally for your fall marathon of choice! Most of our runners target the Chicago Marathon or Half Marathon, but we can tailor your plan to any race around that time.

Why run with RUN Oak Park™?
  • This is an in-person coaching experience
  • Our small group training approach makes it easy to find new running friends who share your pace and your goals
  • You'll receive a customizable training plan written by local legend Coach Janice, who is also a certified personal trainer, USATF-certified run coach, and medical exercise specialist
  • Every run is led by a RRCA-certified run coach
  • We do 3 in-person group runs each week, including a Sunday long run and Thursday morning speed workout
  • You'll get access to a private Facebook page for team support and educational info
  • You'll also get access to the RUN Oak Park™ strength training video library for simple yet effective workouts you can do at home

Dates, Times, and Locations:

  • 18 weeks, starting June 5 and ending October 6
  • Group runs are Sunday mornings (starting times will vary and get earlier as the days get hotter, but we will never meet prior to 6:30 am); Tuesday evening runs are at 6:30 pm, and Thursday morning speed workouts are at 6:30 am
  • Starting locations will vary, although the Tuesday and Thursday runs will be in Oak Park or River Forest; we frequently run from Lively or from Barrie Park, and the speed workouts are usually at a track in River Forest
  • We try to keep the long runs fun by exploring local trails such as Salt Creek, Waterfall Glen, and Palos Park Woods; carpooling is encouraged and we never leave a runner behind on the trail
